Just Sent Out An Group Email

11/8/2008

I just sent out a group email to all my friends reminding them I'm going to have a book signing next Saturday:  The book signing is going to be at at the Marshall University Bookstore, Fifth Avenue and 1 John Marshall Drive, Huntington, West Virginia 25701.  The book signing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008.  It's also Marshall's Homecoming, so a lot of people will be on campus.  My friend Wesley, a fellow almnus of Marshall, is marching in the parade.  I hope he'll have time to come over and see me at the book signing.  The other big news of this week was that I got another book signing scheduled.  It's going to be at Borders Express at the Charleston Town Center Mall in Charleston, West Virginia.  It will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday December 6, 2008.  They're even going to order their own copies of The Gate of Heavenly Peace, so I won't have to bring any of my own.  The fact Borders Express is ordering their own books means I'll get paid more royalties come February.  That'll be nice.

Update on Book Signings.

11/1/2008

I went down to Huntington to drop off some posters and fliers for the Marshall University Bookstore to advertise my book signing there:  The signing's coming up in a couple weeks.  I'm looking forward to it since I went to Marshall for my undergraduate degree and I was raised near Huntington.  My best friend Lee and his wife Chharlotte might be able to make it.  Even if they can't, they're going to have another chance to come to a book signing because I've just scheduled a book signing at thethe Borders at the Huntington Mall in Barboursville, West Virginia.  It will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday November 22, 2008.  I'm looking to this book signing as well because last year, my signing at Borders for Dawn, the Alpha Dog went very well.   This year, it is possible that the signing at Borders might be moverd to an earlier time, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., if another author doesn't comfirm his signing.  I'll keep you posted.

Best Book Signing So far

10/28/2008

I went up to Morgantown, WV today to do my book signing at the WVU College of Law:  It was my best book signing so far.  Sold five books.  That's the most I've ever sold at a signing for The Gate of Heavenly Peace.  I think it's the better book. I wish I was having better sales for it.  Last year, at the book signing at the College of Law for Dawn, the Alpha Dog, I sold eighteen copies.  Oh well.  I'd like to thank Jennifer, Dee, Michael Aloi of Manchin & Aloi, PLLC (that's a law firm in Fairmont, WV), Jacqui, and Jennifer for buying copies of my book.  I hope they'll enjoy reading it.  I also enjoyed seeing Meghan today.  She's the disabled student I'm mentoring through law school.  She's having a very busy semester, but I know her grades will be just fine.  She's a very smart girl.

Talking with Borders

10/21/2008

I'm talking to the Borders at the Huntington Mall:  We're having discusssions about my doing a book signing with them for The Gate of Heavenly Peace on a Saturday afternoon in late November.  Last November, I did a book signing with them for Dawn, the Alpha Dog, and it was a really nice experience.  I sold a few books, saw several of my friends who came out to support me, and got to spend time with my niece who was there with me.  It was a really fun evening.  I hope to repeat the experience this year if Borders and I can nail down a date and time in November for the signing.  I'll keep you posted.

Sang Happy Birthday

10/12/2008

At my book signing at Empire Books this Friday, I sang Happy Birthday with my new communicator:  My friend Cherrie's kids came into the store with Cherrie's dad.  Cherrie's eldest just had her thirteenth birthday, so I sang Happy Birthday to her with my new communicator.  She gave me a big hug, which I appreciated.  Both she and her little brother are good kids.  I told their grandpa that.  He agreed.  Anyway, if I still had my old communicator, I couldn't have sung Happy Birthday because it wasn't programmed into my old one.  So, I'm glad it's programmed into my new communicator so that I could sing it on Friday.  I thank everyone who showed up at the book signing, especially those people who bought books including Cherrie's dad.  Thank you all very very much.
